Don’t hibernate this winter season. Here is an opportunity to get a weekly dose of free vitamin D, melt away some stress, and get your heart pumping! Take a weekly, guided hike, throughout the year, in a local or surrounding area park to enjoy the beauty of all the seasons while being outdoors. Learn a bit about the local, natural environment and history as we hike. Hour long hikes will keep an appropriate pace for healthy exercise, but includes several stops along the trail to catch your breath and learn something new. Different parks and trails, with a variety of surfaces, and occasional special guides, will be utilized. In the event of inclement weather or ground conditions, cancellations will be necessary and registered hikers will be contacted. Advance registration is required to participate. Periodically, some carpooling may be required to travel outside the county. Hikers should be aware that appropriate dress and footwear is essential for a successful outing. We may be engaging in some snow-shoeing also.
