One Acts Workshop

50 North Hikers

Geri-Fit ® Strength Training For Older Adults
Geri-Fit® is a 45-minute evidence based strength training exercise class for older adults.
Most of the bodybuilding exercises are performed seated in chairs with a set of light dumbbell
weights. As you become stronger, you can advance to using heavier dumbbells in order to
challenge yourself even more.
There’s no dancing, aerobics, or choreography to learn and you never have to get on the
floor. Enrollment is open to older adults 50+. All fitness levels are welcome… Simply work
out at your own pace! Instructors will adapt exercises to each individual limitations.
* Pre and post balance testing will be performed on each participant.

Craft Corner: Barn Quilt Paintings

Local Barn Quilt Artist Bev Lang helps us create a hummingbird or Ohio Star, with lots of colors to choose. Barn quilt suitable for hanging indoors or outdoors. Finished product will be 2′ x 2′ on MOO exterior signboard. Participants will use a variety of exterior house paints in a satin finish. Provided boards will already have two coats of exterior primer. Participants need to bring the following: yardstick, green or yellow 1″ FROG tape, white eraser, utility knife (razor cutter to cut through tape), hair dryer, and an extension cord. SilverSneakers Yoga

SilverSneakers® Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
